A Display Energy Certificate (DECs) is a printed report that shows the actual energy usage of a building/office/structure. This allows for you, your staff and visitors to see the energy efficiency of a building. It is in principle the same as energy certification of appliance for your home.

On the 1st of October 2008 the requirement for a DEC became in effect. However, a DEC is only required for a public building with the total useful floor area over 1,000m2 . This equates to approximately 40,000 buildings in the UK, mostly schools.

A Display Energy Certificate is only valid for one year.

Why use PASS FM for your Display Energy Certificates

PASS FM will produce a report which lists the recommendations from our energy assessor.

Our report will detail the recommendations and improvements that would increase the energy rating of the building. These recommendations may contain advice such as improving glazing or lighting for example, heating systems, use of IT equipment etc.
